The park offers reservable Camping, Cabin, and Day Use facilities. This 1255 acre park offers 1.5 miles of uninterrupted beach lined with palmettos, perfect for catching the sunrise over the Atlantic. Please be aware that because of the dynamic location of the park, the water has a high salt content. The water is treated by the Town of Edisto Beach and deemed safe to drink from the Department of Health and Safety. The Town of Edisto Beach does have a water filling station, which allows you to fill up to five gallons per day. Edisto Beach State Park is small when compared to other parks around the state. It is primarily oceanfront/beach area and you can ride or walk the 1/2 mile causeway to get to the trails.

The beaches are beautiful, there is good cell service and there are several unique things in the area that make it a must visit. Edisto Beach State Park, located on a remote sea island rich in Native American history, was originally developed in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. A variety of shells dot the 1.5 mile beach and some of the tallest palmetto trees in the state can be seen throughout the park and Edisto Island.

I like that the park has a beachfront area that you can experience the ocean in a comfortable area and I also like that there is a separate area for trails and hiking that you can be in quiet and nature.
